If you live outside EU, ask for post charges before buying, else I will cancel the transaction. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I sell a large part of my studio equipment. This auction is for  a Roland Boutique TB-3 AIRA. The Roland TB-303 emulation with a tactile screen. Like new - Hardly used.  Including box, original power supply and all packing. The TB-3 is a bass line, able to record 64 Patterns (8 banks of 8) from 1 to 32 steps (16 by default), with a grid at sixteenth note or eighth note triplet.  In playback, you can transpose on the fly or play over the sequence with the pad.  It is possible to chain several consecutive patterns from the same bank by sliding your finger on the pad The great strength of the TB-3 is that it can be played and programmed both step by step and in real time, without stopping the creative flow. In step-by-step mode, you can enter notes, rests, accents, slides and linked notes. All this is done entirely on the pad, which acts as a virtual keyboard (with octave transposition) and modulations input. Step by step, you can program with the Pattern running or stopped. The sonic territory covered is vast and well chosen, ranging from acidic vintage tones to very contemporary detuned stacks. The TB-303 is really well simulated, the sound coloration and the behavior are very close. I particularly appreciate the faithful reproduction of sawtooth/square waves, as well as the natural saturation and smooth response of the 3-pole ladder filter, even at high resonance, which does not crush low frequencies. The effects help to vary the colors and styles covered: there are different types of reverbs, delays, chorus, phaser, distortions !

I offer for sale my Modified Denon DL-103. This has been fitted with a Boron cantilever with a Shibata stylus (cost €250). It has also been fitted in a Techne-Audio body for the Denon DL-103 (cost €125). The cartridge assembly weighs 24.5g without any fasteners. It has a more detailed sound than a standard DL-103, but still retains the body and soul of a DL-103. The additional weight really brings it to life. It will be shipped in the original case, with a stylus protector as pictured. As seen from the photos, the stylus is still in very good condition, having only been lightly used - estimated around 250 hours maximum. The cartridge still plays really well, and a digitally recorded music sample can be provided if required.

In order to fund some new gear I am regretfully selling my vintage Sony Boodo Khan headphones. Still working really well but they would need new ear pads as the original ones are now in poor condition. The overall condition is still really nice, the leather is in good shape. They even still have the original warning sticker on top. Please keep in mind that even though they are working as they should, this is a vintage equipment and therefore is in used condition.

Leica M Summicron 50mm F/2 Version II Rigid This lens is 58 years old, it was made in 1962 !  I used it mainly on Leica M3 and Leica M9 Monochrom. It is a very interesting lens: sharp, medium range contrast and excellent bokeh. It works really well on black and white film and monochrome cameras, giving a vintage but clean look. I try to describe the lens as well as i can: This specimen is in great cosmetic condition and fully functional but it is not perfect: if looking very closely and carefully: - light signs of use can be seen on the barrel, - a micro bubble or micro dust (very common on these lenses) can be seen inside the lens if looking very closely, - if aiming the lens at certain angle under certain light (very difficult to show on a picture) micro scratches (cleaning marks) are also barely visible in the front element if aiming the lens. These are so thin, i didn't see them until recently os it's very difficult to show on a picture. Of course nothing impacts image quality There are very light signs of normal use, the lens is actually beautiful for its age, in better condition than most alternatives visible on even when asking for more money. No major scratch, no fungus, no haze, no separation, blades move freely, focussing is smooth The lens is sold with a generic third part front cap and the classic dedicated bubble case

Treat yourself with one of the best image-creating machine ever made for real adventure photographers, and don’t waste your time seekingfor the best lenses, you have it all in one pack. You will be able to experience an unmatched image quality(the sensor is still ranked an all-time #2 in Dxomark with an excellent score of 101, still dwarfing any full format wonder of 2020…), with a body build to last and stay with you for serious studio work, or the wildest adventure outdoor setup. Ricoh-Pentax is legendary for its weather sealing, and so is this body. To be honest, it is only for health issues that I am selling. I tried the Hasselblad mirrorless X1D, the fuji GFX50s (dreadfull experience with the laziest AF in the world and a poor battery life), theGFX100 (much better experience, but I wasn’t impressed by image quality and rendering…must be the glass), and I always come back to the Pentax 645z. I have never been impressed by Fuji GFX image quality. I Liked the Leica S (again it must be the glass and the lens design that make the real differences), the Hasselblad was interesting, but way too expensive comparing with the Pentax, not even considering the weather sealing and the very long list of ergonomic treats you get from Pentax engineers. It is about creating images and only this, it is not a smartphone. It’s a photographer tool, not a toy. In 2018 I was disappointed by Canon full-frame offering. The5d4 was too expensive and there wasn’t a gap in quality from any canon full Frame since 5d2 and I decided to enter the medium format world with the 645z. I already tried it in Japan in 2015 and I said “well, this would be nice…”. After having bought this camera with literally undying battery life (what a refreshment comparing with all electronic newest camera), I just went to my garden and started right away the 120mm macro. I was dumb because I had no AF at all, but discovered the cleverest mechanism for AF/MF switch to date:sliding the focus ring. There is a slight click and I was all set. Yes the screw motor lenses are a bit noisy, but it’s nice and at the first picture of a random blossoming flower…God almighty, it was like a facepalm, struck by beauty and sheer quality. I decided to keep on the Pentax 645z journey and collect some lenses. The 28-45mm was very soon my favorite landscape lens, equivalent to 22-35mm, extraordinary quality, stabilized, totally weather sealed…those words should surprise you as medium format+stabilized lens+weather sealing…seldom go together. Then came the 90mm macro f2.8, stabilized as well and weather sealed. This may simply be the best lens I’ve ever used for portrait work, incredibly smooth yet detailed. Bokeh is one thing but volumes, transition, tones, textures, it’s just amazing for portrait, and pack shots as well. I wanted to try tele lenses, and acquired the 300mm “star”lens. Build like real lenses with metal, feels solid. Image quality was amazing too, I capture incredible shots of tigers with it, and this lens can really tell stories and add a unique identity. All the lenses are incredible, sharp, and each with unique though I must admit the 150mm f2.8, even though hailed as the portrait king by some other photographers, was often left on the shelf. Please look Pentax forum for reviews on these marvelous lenses. Thanks to the incredible wedding photographers Jeff and Michelle (hi to them!) I discover the craft of using 80s East-Germany Isco lenses for the Pentax and I assembled my favorite lens with a 135mm F2projector lens. This one is really a collectible, manual focus only, it cannot go to the infinity (but for portrait, who cares?) require a good amount of focus skills and mastery of yourself, but it is a very rewarding lens. After all,Helmut Newton shot in medium format with manual focus only, and look at his work…With this wide aperture and unique look, it sad to let it go. Here is the set: -         Pentax645z – very good condition,

Sonic Tonic: A Journey Of 10+ years Becomes A Product Born of Experience, Friendships b'&' Love Of MusicBeing in business for nearly 15 years, you get to meet, and share experience/knowledge with some really great people. Some well known, some relatively unknown. This post is about the birth of a product, I call it Sonic Tonic, as a culmination of over 10 years working with Mr. Jack Bybee, and a fellow group of like minded music lovers whom I will call my b'"'Tweak Gurusb'"'. A Bit of Mad Science TooI owe a great deal to these people. Together through our love of music and what we think it should sound like when reproduced, we continue to push the boundaries of what is possible with audio through very unconventional means. We are mad scientists, given completely over to the dark side. The experiences we share are available to you, if you decide to trust our experiences, our anecdotal evidence, and our ears. It's a lot to ask. I know. Hell I'm about as scientific minded as they get when it comes to anything else except audio. That's because my ears and the ears of my colleagues/friends have heard things. Things we can't measure (with conventional tools/methods), things we can't really put into adequate words, but can only hint at with rambling cliches. It's wholly inadequate, but I've found a way to get beyond words, hype, bullshit and the like. I let you put my experiences to the test, try them in your own system on your own time, and see if they are for your ears. It's simple, costs little to do, and cuts through the crap. Everything Makes A DifferenceI have been experimenting with crystals, metals, and other materials in respect to the effect they have on signal transmission and room acoustics. Let me just say that everything, EVERYTHING in your listening room has some effect on the sound of your audio system, and in more ways than you think. Even the air in the room, it all affects performance, and can be altered. You've seen my experimentation with Copper rods (still ongoing, with more blogging to come...) alongside conventional acoustic treatments within a listening space. This is a fantastic, and inexpensive tweak. The copper brings openness, naturalness and enhances dynamics. Even a well acoustically treated room. That was my first unconventional means of attacking a common problem. inexpensive to try, and I make no money from it. It is simply me sharing something that brings more excitement to the listening experience. A 1/2b'"' copper rod suspended from my ceiling. Playing The FieldThen there are the crystal based products. Not necessarily cheap, but that is about to change... For the crystal based products there are of course Jack B's latest inventions: Room Neutralizers, Quantum Signal Enhancers. Let's not forget the Stein Harmonizer system, Synergistic Research HFT, UEF, Audio Magic P.E.A. and PulseGen technology. All of these use crystals, resonance and either are energized by or produce a b'"'fieldb'"' that enhances certain aspects of music reproduction. All do something to the sound, or to the listener perhaps, that enhances or at the very least changes the sonics of a system and/or room. These have all been an inspiration of sorts, and I have listened to them all. I have much respect for these manufacturers. It takes hundreds, even thousands of hours and tens of thousands of dollars to develop a product such as this. That's before one dime is made. Think about that the next time you read or hear someone bashing a manufacturer for egregious pricing in light of parts count and cost. It's the original idea, the research, the time, and money invested beforehand with no guarantee of return. This needs to be calculated into the MSRP in addition to the material cost of production. Then one has to project how many will be sold (good luck with that in the audio industry) and hopefully come up with a number that will produce a reasonable profit. But I digress.... Rolling My OwnMy own experimentation began by placing large crystals of En savoir plus Collaboration commerciale.

Beyerdynamic T90: High-end cans with remarkably accurate sound. Extremely wonderful sounding headphone, in perfect working condition, very little used as I prioritised my other headphones. Was protected with a plastic foil at the beginning, no smoking environement. Comes with original box and all the accessories. Could consider posting it internationally but please, ask for a quote as the postage differs from country to country and the amount in the description is for European Union only, thanks. kenrockwell.com/audio/beyer/t90.htm b'"'The Beyer T90 are superb headphones, especially if you want detailed, open, uncolored sound with tight, natural bass. If the T90 are too expensive, get them anyway! Unlike consumer electronics like a flat-screen TV or digital camera that you'll want to throw away in 5 years or less, invest your money in headphones or speakers and you'll still be enjoying them decades from now. I still use my original set of Beyer DT990s that I bought in 1986. They seemed expensive then, but the price has long been forgotten while their quality is remembered every day. Headphones don't wear out or age. So long as you don't abuse them too much, they ought to outlive you. Never get cheap with headphones or speakers; they don't become obsolete as do electronics; these are completely passive transducers. The T90 overall has a very good detail retrieval, maybe not at the same level of the Sennheiser HD800 but one of the best I’ve heard so far. Left-right balance and 3-dimensionality are simply incredible, just like the huge sound stage. The presentation in general is rather airy and there is a lot of space between the instruments. The T90 is a tight sounding headphone that’s not coloring the sound, well maybe just very slightly but you get a very clear and realistic presentation no matter what genre you’re listening to. The T90’s bass is very tight and has reasonable impact/body. Bass detail and layering are very good and bass goes really deep. T90 is strong with everything, I really mean that the T90 is strong with all musical genres, I’ve even spent quite a lot of time with it watching movies and I couldn’t find a genre that doesn’t match with this headphone.b'"' Steve Guttenberg, cnet.com/reviews/beyerdynamic-t90-review/ Conclusion: The Beyerdynamic T90 is expensive, but for well-heeled audiophiles the price will seem reasonable. I know of no other less-expensive headphone that can match the T-90's combination of comfort, sound, and build quality. Perhaps the biggest downside to the T90 is that it's not well-suited to portable use, but few full-size, audiophile-oriented headphones are. The T90 is best savored at home, plugged into a high-quality headphone amplifier or AV receiver. In perfect working condition and aesthetic, comes with remote control, power cable and manual. No box but will be extremely well packaged. Beautiful equipment, very flexible and elegant, exceptional sound. The only 'downside' is the discoloration of the volume knob (a well-known problem if you do a research), but that obviously does not impact the operation and didn't bother me at all! r e m u s i c. i t /EN/Bel-Canto-DAC25-processor-80784100 b'"'In conclusion, I can say that the Bel Canto 2.5 is a DAC of absolute modernity. For the quality of its sound, the superb engineering and the ability to handle analog sources, it represents an incomparable article in terms of versatility.b'"' a u d i o p h i l i a. c o m / reviews/2016/5/24/the-bel-canto-dac25-dac-controller b'"'I’ve experienced digital done right. The Esoteric and dCS gear I’ve heard are knockouts. And crazy expensive. Got the dosh? Go ahead. You can't beat them. But this bel canto DAC is less than 2K! It’s a lifetime DAC and worth twice the price. You won’t need anything else for a long time. And, you can sell your preamp to buy it! In the here and now, this exceptional US$1,999 DAC will be staying in my system for a while. And, I’ll enjoy every minute with it. Very highly recommended.b'"' The $2000 Bel Canto is an excellent PCM digital audio converter, and while it is not exactly cheap as a standalone DAC, given the features it offers, it would be difficult to give the DAC 2.5 less than a high five. The DAC 2.5 is an incredibly versatile music machine. Thanks to its stereo RCA analog input, the 2.5 can be used as an analog preamp. It features 24-bit digital volume control and a host of connection options. In addition to built-in USB, a host of 24-bit/192kHz compatible inputs (Toslink, AES/EBU, S/PDIF) share the rear panel with XLR and RCA analog outputs. There is also a front-mounted 1/4b'"' headphone jack for the dedicated headphone amp. It took me a while, but I finally put my finger on a key attribute of the Bel Canto: it digs deep into the music, reconstructing a sonic image that is sometimes very bright and always transparent. The smoothness of the sound is just enough to give you a tube feel, but the Bel Canto is completely solid-state. It is very easy to get lost in the music the Bel Canto is presenting to you. I have thrown a ton of music at the Bel Canto and it just presents it beautifully. The detail in the music is just insane. I mean, it is so detailed without being analytical at all with a nice slightly warm character... a nice rich midsection and great extension in the bass and treble. I think it was really musical, with a really high-end rhythm. For sale is an original first-issue, and extremely rare 5Ω version of the Beyer DT-48S, from 1964, perfectly working with original box and NOS/never used replacement earpads (oval and round). - Made in Western Germany Unique Opportunity to own a piece of audio history ! DT-48S (S for Stereo) were the first stereophonic headphones built with Nagra-Kudelski specifications, to be used in tandem with the Nagra IV-S or Nagra SN tape recorders. At the time it was a largely hand-made production and cost 224 deutschmarks (price list).
Some DT48S were even OEM’d as Kudelski instead of Beyer.

Condition: They are not mint but for 56 years-old headphones, they are in excellent shape. The actual silver metal drivers are intact without a single scratch, no rust or anything on the metal headband. It was gently used, and very well taken care of. It is terminated by a standard stereo 6,35mm jack.

There is only visible wear on the upper headband coated-foam material (that tends to dry overtime) but this is still one the most well-preserved (and complete!) original DT-48S set I have ever seen. Some history:

The most famous user of those headphones, is without any doubt Stanley Kubrick. You can see him on a photograph from the set of Clockwork Orange, wearing the 25Ω version of those, with oval ear-pads.
In fact, those were designed for monitoring dialogues and ‘concrete’ sounds in mind, as well as very surgical applications like lab-work, aural testing and the like.
Usage: Music comes out dramatically different and unhyped as they are very medium oriented, bass is present but depends on the way it was recorded, and it is known that oval ear-pads are adding bass due to the way they isolate the ears.
With very transparently recorded music, like some albums from the ECM label (think Arvo Pärt) or ethnographic records, jazz and some classical and experimental music (and with the right preamp of your choice to drive them) those Beyers are unbeatable and still a reference today in revealing the naked truth. Perfect for hyper-critical mixing, and obvisouly monitoring. Be ware that it really takes getting used-to but the reward is unmatched.

This is a reluctant sale, but I have to finance studio gear.

Will be safely packed and shipped with insurance. Thank you for your interest!

Cabasse Stream Source BT Streamer/Network Player DLNA server DAC 24 bits. Selling my beloved trustworthy network streamer and DLNA server from Cabasse. After I've pourchased an amp with integrated streaming capabilities, this one is getting dusted and it's a shame, it's a wonderful streamer / network player / server, highly regarded by the audiophile community. It is in great condition and working perfectely, comes with power supply but no remote, lost it as I never used it, I've always controlled the streamer through the app. Will be extremelly well packaged! Could consider posting it internationally but please, ask for a quote as the postage differs from country to country and the amount in the description is for European Union only, thanks. b'"'The Cabasse Stream Source network player was awarded the Masterpiece 2015 prize awarded by the Festival Son et Image in the category of best connected products.b'"' b'"'What’s more, the visceral quality of the music was evident in full effect and kept me glued to the seat for the duration of the piece. The Stream Source sounds slightly midrange forward by the strictest standards of neutrality. It pulls out detail that makes voices distinctive and orchestra’s expansive, as on Daniel Barenboim’s Beethoven 7. With the server in tow Patricia Barber’s ‘Bye Bye Blackbird’ [Nightclub, Premonition] delivers a good deal of its image scale and atmosphere, this thanks to low noise and the supremacy of the recording. It really puts you in the room, a pretty good result for a shiny black pebble!b'"' - HiFiPlus The Cabasse Stream Source wireless network player and audio DAC is equipped with Ethernet, WiFi and Bluetooth apt-X network controllers, as well as a USB port for playing and sharing MP3, WMA, AAC or FLAC audio files up to at 24 bits and 96 kHz on a home network. It is also Google Home compatible to be controlled by voice! The Cabasse Stream Source can be connected to any amplifier equipped with a stereo analog input, a DAC or an amplifier equipped with S/PDIF digital inputs. Controlled via its remote control or, better, with the Cabasse application available for iOS or Android mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, Galaxy S3/4, Nexus 4/5/7/10, etc.), the Cabasse Stream Source can decode many digital files, whether stored on the mobile device or shared by a computer or NAS on the home network. Thanks to the Cabasse mobile application, web radios or music from the Deezer service can be streamed and decoded by the Cabasse Stream Source. Direct pairing with a Bluetooth smartphone or tablet is facilitated by NFC technology support (just bring the device close to the Stream Source). Audio playback of any file is then possible, or even listening to music from Youtube or Spotify for example. Another strong point: sharing audio files from a USB key or hard drive is child's play. No settings are required and the contained files are automatically shared on the local network, according to the DLNA / UPnP protocol. In other words, any home theater amplifier, network player, smartphone, tablet or wireless speaker connected to the home network can play files shared by the Cabasse Stream Source. Compact, easy to install with its support for the WiFi WPS communication protocol, the Cabasse Stream Source makes it easy to listen to digital music and even share it. youtube.com/watch?v=GNTNA3ovYrA Bluetooth and DLNA audio player-streamer (via WiFi and Ethernet) DLNA audio file server (via USB port) 24-bit/96kHz audio DAC with stereo RCA analog output S/PDIF digital outputs Bluetooth apt-X and NFC Remote App control Google Home compatible (voice control) Connections 1x USB port (for stick or hard drive) 1x RCA stereo analog output 1x Optical Toslink S/PDIF output Audio formats played WAV, FLAC, WMA, AIFF, AAC, ALAC and MP3 General Dimensions (wxhxd): 231 x 40 x 136 mm Weight: 500g Arcam / quad / cambridge audio / teac / marantz / denon / yamaha / onkyo / atoll / nad / musical fidelity / gustard / ifi / monitor audio / klipsch / if En savoir plus Collaboration commerciale.

I have owned this from new 1987. It has been extremely well looked after, though a bit dusty. No marks or scratches anywhere. Plays lovely, though the cartridge will now need changing. I still have the original packaging, so if you really want it posted, this is possible. All the bits come apart and are packaged separately in their own special packaging. The whole thing weighs about 10kg plus packaging of course. We will have to discuss this separately. I would of course prefer it to be picked up, but you will have to come to Brittany in France for that. If you want any other photos, just ask. I changed the belt about 5 years ago and it is still perfect.  I don't need to explain what a lovely piece of engineering this is and how rarely they come up for sale. Even after all these years it runs as new. You can see my record collection on Discogs (Hotspicytea) to know I am a serious record collector.

OTARI UFC-24 Universal Format Converter with addition of optional 24 channels of AES/EBU capability providing uncompromised conversion of all formats. This 2U rack-mount unit allows up to 24 tracks of digital audio to be transferred simultaneously from the source-format to all of the most-common formats used in the industry today. A single UFC-24 will convert up to 24 channels at a time from any one to all of the following: • PD • SDIF-2 • ADAT • TDIF-1 • AES/EBU • Multiple units may be linked to provide sample- accurate transfer of more than 24 channels. The input source-format outputs to all other formats at the same time. MIDI Input, Output & Throughput connectors are provided for patch-change control of Routing-Presets & Input-Format. All parameters of the UFC-24 may be stored as System-Exclusive Data to a MIDI storage device and later recalled. 1:1 Track-Mapping & user-selectable Routing of Input-channels to Output-channels is provided by buttons on the front panel. Up to 6 user-configurable Routing-Presets allow Channel Routing Maps to be recalled at any time. LEDs indicate status of Source-Clock lock and Channel Assignments. Frank Wells, Masterfonics, Nashville, TN: "We heard about the UFC-24 from OTARI when it was first coming out and it met a need that had been in the market for a long time. All of these digital formats are 16-bit and are all storing the same words at the same sampling rates but you couldn't get information from one of them to the other one without going out into the analog world. Now the UFC-24 is able to address the pro formats (PD and DASH), plus the ADAT and DA-88 that many producers are using to work in home studios. It seems to meet all those needs in one relatively inexpensive box. Being able to re-route channels in the box is also a big plus. We use the phrase 'digital everything -- all at once' around here...and this box applies that on a multi-track 'digital everywhere -- from anywhere' basis. That sums it up pretty well." Rudy Van Gelder, Rudy Van Gelder Studio, NJ: "We needed the capability of transferring digitally between PCM-3324 (DASH) to PCM-800 (DA-88 format) and I wanted to transfer 24 tracks digitally. The UFC-24 is very stable, very reliable and it performs what it's supposed to do perfectly. The additional thing about it that I like is the routing flexibility within the unit. This is a feature that I wasn't originally aware of, but I use it all the time...I'm really pleased with the UFC-24." Tva RECUPERABLE........E SHIPPING WORLDWIDE: CONTACT ME FOR THE PRICE OF SHIPPING

Hello, Selling here with big regrets my beloved Leica Summicron-M 35mm 1:2 version 4 also known as "King of Bokeh".  This sample is absolutely beautiful. I see no special trace of use on it. It is a lattest version with aperture and scale numbers with the modern square typeface. Focusing is super smooth, aperture ring, well clicked. No problem whatsoever in use. We can see a tiny bit of dust from front, and we can see some tiny bubbles in the glass from the rear wich is normal and common in high quality glass lenses. It is not a problem and will never be visible in pictures. Please check pictures 2, 3, 4.     Sold with rear cap (generic), front cap (rare original black one), hood (original), LEICA E39 UV (UVa) original filter, and original leather pouch.  Really rare to see a lens that is in such a nice condition.  Please watch pictures carefully, they are part of the description.  Happy to ship worldwide, but considering the current situation (covid), I only accept shipping through insured EMS carriers to prevent the lens getting stuck somewhere.

THE WORLD'S REFERENCE AUDIOPHILE MAINS FILTER NO REVIEWER OR MUSIC LOVER HAS FOUND BETTER !! RETAIL PRICE: 270 $ 6moons says of Firewall: More organic and fluid, better frequency extremes, layering, impact and weight September, 2017, author: Srajan Ebaen "As anticipated, this whodunnit was easily sorted. What I'll call the X amp [with Firewall modules]–internally in parts, sonically in 'more'–distinguished itself on two levels. The first had to do with raw quantity." "Here [with Firewall modules] the bass was better articulated, front-to-back layering more developed, the treble more suave and vocals were more present." "Describing why the feel was more organic and fluid leads to lazier lengthier decays and background sounds more connected to the foreground. The plain Jane's [without Firewalls] drier take coincided with sharper separation but lacked the more holistic elasticity of the X [with Firewall modules]. One was pricklier and more staccato, the other rounder, smoother and of a more legato persuasion." "[With Firewalls:] better visibility at the frequency extremes and of the imaging precision in general." "The depth layers of X [with Firewall modules] during chorus interludes had superior development. With it the low beats of the Bombay Dub Orchestra had more impact and weight." "One [without Firewalls] was cooler, sharper, more bare boned and lean. The other [with Firewalls] was richer, mellower, smoother and fuller." "[With Firewall modules had] this afterglow quality. Here lingered on a stronger flavour of space, ambiance and calm." "For an alternate take on LessLoss Firewall effects, read Vance Hiner's review of the Echo's End DAC. Between us–and we've not had any exchanges–there's no doubt. These Firewall cards really do the trick." "What today's experiment showed is that it takes no luxury gear at all to hear differences or create improvements." HIFI WIGMAN says:  "Easy to use and does the job without a negative impact on dynamics." May, 2017, author: George Sallit "With the filter in circuit the background noise is significantly reduced and the decay of notes on the guitar are much easier to hear. The soundstage (as it is) was enhanced. Oddly enough the tonal colours also seemed enhanced. The drum kit was not some amorphous thudding but stretched skins being hit gently. I did not quite believe what I was hearing." "With the filter in place, the sound was far more musical." "The 3D soundstage was much bigger and made it easier to differentiate who was doing what." "I then blinked. My notes for the music without the filter were hifi comments, with the filter I was commenting on the music." "Well the filter certainly allowed all the individual elements to be easily heard without any frequency response changes." "All the advantages of mains filters but no loss of dynamics." "The sound was more 3D and it was easier to hear the individual instruments. Also, the drums had a stronger tonal colour than without the filter." "It sounded as though the worse the mix the better the effect." "On the DAC the noise levels were reduced. The tonal colour was much better. The biggest impact was again on the DAC. Was this a weakness in the Audionote DACs? No. I tried the 5x on my Metrum Octave and I heard a similar effect, less noise, more 3D sound, greater tonal colour. Is it possible it only works with NOS DACs? No. Out came my Esoteric DAC with a very similar finding." "The biggest difference was with bright mixes where the 'truthfulness' of the Class D could make things a bit fierce. The 5x filter tamed that and all that was left was a bright mix. There are many reports on the web of people recommending mains treatments for Class D amplifiers. I had not tried that as I was concerned a
