It provides a very firm locking of the door and thus the door will not open during playback or recording unlike all other D3 and DD series. Reducing my extensive SONY ES collection I sell this fully and very recently professionnally restored TA-N80ES. Full restoration has been done in October 2020 by renowned French vintage hifi specialist Audiovintage: the detailed report of the restoration is visible on its website at the date of October 18, 2020. It is the restoration report of this very one TA-N80ES, not someone else's ! The matching 750 Euros original invoice will of course come with the amp, and it is under full warranty for six months. These wonderful sounding amps can become quite temperamental with age, so buy an unrestored one at your own risk. Very light scratches, barely visible at short distance.
