Superb Vintage French 6 Light Empire Chandelier in Bronze A stunning six light vintage chandelier with striking neo classic features and made from the finest quality bronze. The deep centre of the ceiling rose has embossed plumes at the centre on a scalloped fluted backdrop and a plain band around the edge gives a nicely defined circular rim. The short chain has two large angular links with a round link in the middle and joins to the top of the central column on a large scrolled hook. The exquisite central column of the chandelier is in a classic empire urn shape with heavy bronze appliques decorating it. A wide band encircling the top has two lines of delicate stippling going around it, and at the base is a magnificent garland of intricately embossed laurel leaves which in roman times symbolised health and prosperity. The central column of the chandelier is mounted on a very shapely pedestal with a sharply defined circlet of stipples around the middle. Below this is the smooth domed centre of the light which has a beautifully etched bronze band around the centre. The six superb arms extend from the centre band each held in place with a ribbed capital. Curving out from strong capitals on the inner end, they are embellished with detailed acanthus leaves unfurling along the centre on a textured backdrop and finish with strong empire capitals at the ends.url out. The elegant circular candle cups at each end have stylish fluting on the base and stipples at the rim with the fluted light holders standing high in the centre. All are complete with faux candle sleeves. The wide and shapely base of the chandelier has another applique of laurel leaves set in the centre and is completed by a large bronze torchere finial in the centre. This beautiful chandelier is in excellent vintage condition, and the heavy cast bronze whilst showing a few marks commensurate with age has gained a fabulous timeworn patina over the years, you could polish it to a high shine if you wish but I leave this as a matter for the owner to decide.   A stunning light with striking good looks it has all the classic elegance and design features of the period and it would be a magnificent addition to any home. Very Decorative 3 Light Vintage French Bronze Chandelier A lovely chandelier richly enhanced with flamboyant bronze detailing.   The deep cupped ceiling rose is has an elegant embossed pattern rising from the finely detailed centre. The suspension post has a small delicate hook at the bottom from which is suspended the short chain, which comprises two plain and one fancy link. At the top of the central column is a superb and very large trefoil hook, embossed with detailed swirls of plumage. The column has a slender neck enhanced with soft folded plumes and this widens out to a central piece covered in delightful coquille and acanthus leaves. The centre and base of the chandelier are identical, with a high domed shape, they are smothered in richly detailed trails of acanthus leaves spreading out from the centre and fine stippling on the rim. There is a plain bronze band around the centre and it is from here that the three arms extend.  Each of the rich curling arms is enveloped in sweeping plumes along the length and have deep acanthus flower candle cups set at the end. All are complete with faux candle sleeves. This fine chandelier is completed by lovely bronze finial in the centre base. In excellent condition it has developed a deep aged patina over the years which together with the fine decoration make it a superb and vintage addition to any home. Superb old large white French pillow case.  Framed by  a line of small  jours with scalloped edges.  In one corner there is a fabulous hand embroidered  letters, monogram with the letter U C. Superb work! Gorgeous and white.  This lovely pillow case is in white cool cotton. On the reverse, a third of the way down, is the place to insert the pillow with buttons to fasten.   Pillow size approx (laid flat) 25" x 25 1/4" (63.5  x 64cm) with a border of 1 3/4" (4.5cm) Lovely condition.  It is bright and white.  In accordance with old linens etc and many years of use this has a little half of a button missing behind and there is a little missing piece of cotton - but it is hidden behind the button flap!  You may or may not repair - it does not detract:) *Important - It must be remembered that old French linens and alike were usually very well kept and stored in fabulous grand armoires.       A Superb Pair of French 'Lucien Gau Paris' Double Bronze Table Lamps with Shades   I am selling a superb pair of quality French table lamps by Lucien Gau of Paris.   'La maison' of Lucien Gau has been established in Paris since 1860 and has a shop in 'Passage du Cheval Blanc - 75011 Paris'. These ornate double arm bronze lamps, have pretty oval chiffon lamp shades. Both of the lamps have their original makers labels on the underside of the base. (If you search on the internet you will find that these lamps retail online in France at around 500 euros each.) The lamps with their shades measure 39.5 cm in height. The width of the shades at their widest point measure 22 cm. The pair of lamps with their shades weigh 2.2 kg They both have on/off switches incorporated into the flex. They each require two screw type candle bulbs (bulbs not included).  They will need to have plugs fitted. All measurements are approximate. Condition  Both lamps bases are in good condition. Both of the chiffon shades have surface marks/specks on the exterior and interior surfaces. I have shown these light fittings working and the two core flex appears to be in good order but I would advise you to have them checked/tested  before use and if necessary rewired to the standards required in your country of residence.   Payments by Paypal only please P+P  I take care with my packaging using strong boxes, bubble wrap and polychips.  Postage from France with tracking and insurance.
