TESTS @ 250/-45: Emission :                                              Transconductance / Mutual conductance: tube 10 = 41mA                                      tube 10 = 6 mA/V              Factory spec. 100%= 60mA, 6mA/V @ 250/-45 Nota: Les tubes que je propose à la vente mesurés le sont et en émission, et en transconductance (pente). En effet, la mesure de l’émission ne suffit pas à elle seule pour déterminer l'état d'un tube. C'est sa pente qui indique son potentiel en terme de durée de vie. Ainsi, par exemple, une ECC83 testée à 1.2 mA par triode à 250V/-2V pourrait sembler neuve car 100%= 1.2 mA. Hors, il se peut que sa pente mesurée ne soit seulement que de 1,3 mA/V par triode au lieu de 1,6 mA/V (100%). Cela signifie que ce tube a déjà été longuement utilisé et est en fait à 80% de son rendement nominal. Son émission était donc à l'origine bien supérieure au 1.2 mA mesuré (comme on le constate régulièrement sur les productions anciennes), peut-être à 1,5 mA ou plus. Le tube ne peut donc absolument pas être considéré comme neuf et vendu comme tel. Donc la mesure la plus importante à prendre en considération pour choisir un tube est sa pente en mA/V obtenue avec les paramètres de la datasheet du fabricant. English Nota: Measured tubes I sell are measured both in emission and mutual condutance (Gm). Indeed, measuring emission only is useless to know the tube's condition. It's its mutual condutance which indicates its potential lifetime. For instance, an ECC83 measured at 1.2 mA per triode at 250v/-2v could seem to be new as 100%= 1.2 mA. But, its mutual conductance once measured could only be 1,3 mA/V per triode instead of 1,6 mA/V (100%). It means that the tube was already extensively used and is only at 80% of what it was supposed to deliver when new. When new, its emission was higher than the 1.2 mA measured, maybe 1,5 mA or more per triode. This tube could not be considered as new and can't be sold as new. Another breakthrough during this decade was Beomaster 1900, a radio receiver and amplifier launched in 1976. Once again, design and operation differed dramatically from other contemporary products. Originally designed by Jacob Jensen, Beomaster 1900, together with Beomaster 2400-2 were two advanced FM stereo receivers. They had identical technical specification and performance. Both were easy to use and easy to live with. Beomaster 2400-2 had the additional convenience of a cordless ultrasonic remote control module by which you could operate radio, amplifier and Beogram 2400 or 4004 record deck from a distance. Both receivers had touch-sensitive controls for operating the features and functions you used every day. All the secondary switches and adjustments were protected beneath a hinged lid, but an illuminated readout panel showed you the set's operational status at a glance. Beomaster 1900 boasted a powerful 2 x 30 watts RMS amplifier with distortion of less than 0,13%, five pre-set FM stations and comprehensive connection facilities. To operate it you simply touch the application "dimples" on the set's front panel. The radio section had 4 pre-set stations which could be summoned at a touch and the phase-lock loop decoder provided excellent stereo separation even in difficult reception conditions The volume level could be pre-set at low, medium or high, and the music would always start at this level however much the volume control was altered last time the set was used. The sets' controls were divided into primary and secondary functions. The latter, which were less frequently used, were placed underneath the hinged aluminium panel where they were protected from dust and accidental movement. A clear distinction was therefore made between the primary choice - accessible through a light touch - and the secondary choice, concealed under a lid hiding what the user did not need for daily use. At a stroke, what had been the norm for hi-fi in the past, with its macho grip and buttons, was eliminated. Instead, designer Jacob Jensen created a new design language, flat 'flush-designed' and electronically communicating, which did not target a few techno-freaks, but a much wider audience who wanted music rather than hi-fi equipment. As standard it features all of the original TB-303 controls, and also has an external audio input through the filter and VCA. Overlapping midi notes gives you that essential 303 note slide, and any midi note with a velocity of 120 or more will trigger the note accent. Realistically if this synth was programmed correctly, you would be VERY hard pressed to distinguish between this unit and a real 303 in a mix. In a side by side comparison i'd say it sounds a little meatier than the Behringer TD3, with a little more girth and analogue weight to the sound. We have modded this machine with our circuitbenders Acid FM mods to give a huge range of extra sounds, without diluting the essential TB-303 character. MODS INCLUDE: VCO On/Off Switch: Normally when you plug a jack into the external VCF input, the MB33's VCO is automatically removed from the mix. As there may be occasions where you don't want this to happen, or situations such as when you're using the filter lock mod (see below) when you want to be able to turn the VCO on and off yourself, we've added a switch to add manual control of this. VCO Drive: The MB33 retro seems to be designed to slightly distort the output stage at full volume, much like the TB303 did. The Drive mod boosts this distortion savagely for some grungy acid techno sounds. This mod increases the maximum amount of distortion at maximum volume. The intensity of the distortion can be set using the normal volume knob. Resonance Boost Switch: An annoying issue with these machines is that the resonance never reaches self oscillation (but then neither did the TB303) and also drops off considerably when the cutoff is over 3/4 of the way up. We've solved this problem by adding the resonance boost switch. With this switch activated the filter starts to squeal with the resonance about halfway up, and then just screams with self oscillation at any higher settings. The resonance boost is especially effective when used with the VCF FM mods. VCF FM: Essentially VCF FM (Frequency Modulation) allows you to modulate the filter cutoff at audio frequencies to create all kinds of clanging cross modulation and bizarre alien splatters & sweeps. This effect works best with the resonance cranked up into self oscillation which is where the resonance boost mod comes into play. The FM controls allow you to select one of four sources for the FM signal. The first is the normal filter input socket round the back. This means you can run a sound through the filter section, but also use that sound to modulate the filter cutoff at audio frequencies at the same time. The second source is a new FM input jack on the right hand side of the case. Using this source allows you to run a sound through the filter from the VCF input or just use the internal VCO, and at the same time modulate the filter cutoff with an entirely independent sound source at the FM in jack. The actual audio from the FM in jack is not heard. The remaining two sources are the sawtooth and square wave signal from the main oscillator. These can be selected as sources completely independently of the setting on the VCO waveform knob The FM source select knob also has an 'off' setting. The amount of FM applied to the VCF is controlled using the VCF FM knob.
