RAMMELLZEE VS K-ROB / BASQUIAT, 2001, VINYL, TARTOWN TT001 À ALBI
Jean-Michel Basquiat - Rammellzee vs K Rob Beat Bop - test pressing 2001 You are looking on the 2001 edition, produced of 500/1000 unit Beat Bop is a hip hop single by American rappers Rammellzee and K-Rob, originally released in 1983 by record label Tartown. It was initially distributed merely as a test pressing. Its cover was designed by New York City graffiti artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. The result of a disagreement between Rammellzee and Basquiat, the track has been cited as having an influence on artists such as Beastie Boys and many experimental hip hop artists due to its chaotic, abstract sound. Due to the rarity of its original pressing, 500/1000, it has been called the Holy Grail of rap records. What you are about to buy is the test pressing of the first reissued version from 1983, which was released in 2001 from the Tartown Record Co. It plays at 33 ⅓ RPM, although the label states 45 RPM - 2001, Beat Bop (12"), Tartown Record Co, US, 33RPM Matrix / Runout (Etchings side A): TT.001-A-E-1 Matrix / Runout (Etchings side B): TT.001-B-E-1 (see pictures) Production:500/1000 (two press ring) Record is all black Condition: the serigraph pocket is showing sign of time but as you can see on the pictures it is in very good condition and the record is still in very good shape and nice sound.
