A vintage solid brass cast door knocker in the form of a sailing galleon ship under sail.  This type of door knocker was very popular from the 1950s onwards as Austerity was ending after the war and people sought to improve their door furniture.  This door knocker is not marked with a manufacturers details but is typical of the period.  This is door knocker which is cast with its own striker plate is a particularly good example as it is well cast from a high grade brass that weighs 364g and is 14.5 cm in height x 11 cm in width   This door knocker is a larger example and is quite simple in that it carries no words such as Mayflower, Golden Hind, Victory, 16th Century Galleon or other inference such as nationality on the sails.  It is simply a door Galleon door knocker.  The Galleon has a smooth nicely polished surface and would ideally suit a period property in a seaside location.    SEE PICTURES see pictures before purchase ************************************  In the shop you will find a variety of items, some new, some used a little and some lovely vintage finds.  Sizing differs from brand to brand and some items have the wrong size label.       A Large Antique Vintage French Brass Table Lamp Light Cherub Detail on Base   I am selling a lovely antique vintage French brass table lamp with a vintage shade.   The lamp base is made from brass and has an ornate column with claw feet and cherub details on three sides. The shade is lightweight and is made from a textured/patterned paper with an aged appearance. The lamp with its shade measures 60cm in height. The lamp base alone without its shade measures 45cm in height and the base measures 15cm wide at its widest point. The shade has a diameter of 25cm at the base. The lamp with its shade weighs almost 2.3 kg before packaging.  (The colour of the shade may appear different when viewed on different devices/tablets etc.) This lamp requires a bayonet type bulb (bulb not included).  There is an on/off switch incorporated into the flex but it will need to have a plug fitted. All measurements are approximate. Condition  This lamp is in good condition having surface patination to the brass which is commensurate with age and use.  The shade has some crease marks and there are some foxing/age spots on the inside and outside. I have shown this lamp working and the two core flex appears to be in good order but I would advise you to have it checked/tested  before use and if necessary rewired to the standards required in your country of residence.   Payments by Paypal only please P+P  I take care with my packaging using strong boxes, bubble wrap and polychips.  Postage from France with tracking and insurance.
