Landau told John Suhr that he'd like the OD-100 Standard+'s Channel 2 to be like an early-70's British amp that he owned and adored. John borrowed Landau's amp and tweaked away, eventually coming up with a brand new Channel 2 and a new output section that duplicated and even surpassed the sound that Mike had come to love. The OD-100 Classic was born! The Channel 2 of the OD-100 Classic has much less gain than Channel 2 of either the OD-100 SE+ or the OD-100 Standard+. It's definitely more of a vintage voicing – like that of cranked non-master-volume amps with EL-34 output tubes – but you have the flexibility of the master volume to get that cranked sound and feel at moderate volume levels. Besides the completely new preamp circuit for Channel 2, the OD-100 Classic features the silver "Plexi-style" output transformer and EL-34 output tubes in the power section for a more authentic vintage British sound. Il est réputé pour son piqué en fermant un peu (ce qui est normal pour un macro) et pour son bokeh original: à f2.8 le bokeh est plutôt doux (en proxy), à f4 légèrement hexagonal, mais à f5.6/f8 il prend la forme d'une étoile. Cet objectif est avant tout conçu pour photographie les plantes, les insectes et petits objets, mais il excelle aussi en portrait. This lens is primarily designed to photograph plants, insects and small objects, but it also excels in portrait. In general use, it becomes good when closed (homogeneous in landscape at f11). It is a 50mm in full frame (75mm in APS-C, which can be even more interesting in macro). It is entirely manual. The m42 mount fits on digital cameras, especially mirrorless, with an adapter ring (cheap on the internet). The lens is in excellent external and mechanical condition (like new). The optics are clear (with a magnifying glass maybe a tiny mark inside without consequences). It has been used very little. This is an Intrepid 8x10 camera in excellent working condition. The only small point worth noting is that I shortened one of the tabs on the ground glass holder in order to allow the back to be closed in landscape mode - see images. The rest of the camera is in near perfect condition with only some superficial marks on the wood. The glass is chip and scratch free. The bellows are light-tight and undamaged. The focus mechanism is smooth and works as normal. Whatever the motivation, software has to be a more economical option for a developer, even if, as in the case of Neuron VS, the software comes with a hardware controller. Tooling up for a rack Neuron, on the other hand, would have produced another mega-thousand-pound product. Refreshing The Neurons The original Neuron created quite a stir when it was announced by promising a new approach to synthesis and sound creation, and anyone who heard one, as I did while attending the Frankfurt Music Fair during its launch year, couldn't ignore the range and volume of sounds it produced. I was continuously reminded of the Neuron's impact as it swooped and roared in the background of an interview that I recorded at that show. Now the attractive concept of running that technology from your computer desktop has created a stir of its own. The Neuron VS package consists of two parts, one hardware and one software (as this review was approaching completion, a second software component, Modelmaker, was added to the bundle — see the boxout for more on this). The hardware element is the USB-driven Nuke remote control unit, which offers a single stick controller — the X-Y joystick, of which there are four on the original Neuron keyboard — and four assignable continuous controllers. Neuron VS, the software component, is essentially the synth engine from the original Neuron in plug-in form. Obviously, the keyboard version has the advantage of its own dedicated hardware, so its performance is not dependent on the power of your CPU or the amount of RAM you have installed, as is the case with Neuron VS. The keyboard version also offers surround-sound audio compatibility, future plans for audio-input processing and four-part multitimbrality. But the rest remains largely the same. Neumann KM 84 Small Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone. The Neumann KM 84 i and KM 84, a classic small diaphragm FET condenser microphone, is the result of a visit to Norwegian State Television by Neumann engineers in the mid-1960s. NST wanted smaller, transistor-based microphones for a new studio but needed these microphones to run off of their central 48V DC power system rather than 12V T-Power. Neumann's engineers devised a plan for powering a microphone in this way and a major innovation, which we now know as phantom power, was born. The KM 84 i and KM 84 uses the KK 64 capsule from the tube-amplified KM 64 microphone. This capsule produces a near-perfect cardioid pattern which maintains frequency response even 130-degrees off-axis and yields a very natural sound without comb-filtered artifacts due to bleed from other instruments. The FET and transformer-output amplifier of the KM 84 i offers very high headroom, which makes the microphone widely used as a close microphone for drums, particularly snare drum. A -10dB pad is switchable on the body of the mic for recording especially hot signal sources. As is the case with all Neumann products, the b'"'ib'"' designation is for microphones that shipped with an XLR output connector for export to the US. Bien que cet appareil soit conçu pour être utilisé principalement avec la guitare, il dispose également d'une entrée micro jack asymétrique, que je ne recommanderais pas pour un travail d'enregistrement sérieux. Although this unit is designed for use mainly with guitar, there's also an unbalanced jack mic input, though I wouldn't recommend this for serious recording work. However, it is useful for those high-street busking sessions with a digeridoo (or whatever) and you can even use the mic and instrument inputs at the same time if need be. The output of the unit is strictly mono and power can come from an optional PSU or from six AA batteries. Digital units like this tend to be fairly hungry on batteries, so the mains adaptor is a good idea — unless you're busking in the high street using a battery amplifier! Working with loops can be a problem, because if you get an overdub wrong, you generally have to go back to square one. However, that's no problem here, as there's a very welcome Undo/Redo button. To help timing, there's also a useful metronome and a facility for having the loop recording end precisely on a beat rather than exactly where you hit the pedal. This is really helpful in creating tight-sounding loops. Once a loop has been recorded, its tempo can be changed without altering its pitch, though as with most time/pitch manipulation there's only so far you can go before the processing artefacts start to show. Other live performance niceties include the ability to store multiple Phrases, then decide whether each should play back as a 'one shot' performance or loop continuously. Because this pedal can store multiple Phrases, and store them after power down, you could load up a few backing tracks into it (from CD, your computer or any other suitable audio source) ready to perform. There's no way to back up loops other than to record the audio output, though, and from my own perspective the ability to dump and load audio files via USB would have made a lot of sense. Les Beovox CX100 ont été produites et vendues de 1984 à 2003 soit durant une vingtaine d'années, ce qui démontre leur succès et leur qualité. Elles sont même les toutes dernières enceintes passives (donc non amplifiées), les seules à avoir passé le seuil de l'an 2000 parmi toutes les enceintes passives Bang & Olufsen. Le son qu'elles développent est clair, limpide et même si leur coffret est de volume réduit, elles ont suffisamment de basses (descendent jusqu'à 50 Hz) pour reproduire tout type de musique de façon équilibrée d'un point de vue spectre musical. Avec un ampli BeoMaster 5000 / 5500 / 6500 / 7000, ou la série des Beocenter 9000 / 9300 / 9500, elles donneront le meilleur d'elles-même, ou mieux encore avec un ampli de Class A de 20 Watts soit environ 70 Watts d'un ampli classique, les Beovox CX100 à 100 Watts RMS se et vous régaleront. L'idéal serait tout de même d'y ajoindre un BEOVOX CONA qui a la forme d'un pouf et qui se place n'importe où dans la pièce où se trouvent les CX100 afin d'avoir une présence soutenue de Basses. On peut quand même dire en restant objectif qu'elles ont du coffre car développer 100 Watts RMS dans un si petit volume depuis 1983, année de mise au point, relève d'une véritable performance!! Plus précisément concernant la paire de Beovox CX 100 que je propose ici... Les Beovox CX100 que je mets en vente ici sont parmi les toutes dernières produites de ce modèle fin 2002. Je les ai acquises dans un magasin B&O en 2006 où elle dormaient dans son stock, neuves, depuis 2003. Il se trouve que j'ai de multiples enceintes acoustiques dont une autre paire de Beovox CX100 acquises en 1990 et qui me donnent toujours pleine satisfaction. Je n'ai donc jamais eu besoin de me servir des CX100 en vente ici. Elles ne sont donc jamais sorties de leur emballage carton et plastic d'origine et sont restées en permanence à température ambiante et hygrométrie moyenne (taux d'humidité) pendant 15 ans. Elles n'ont pas bougé, pas d'altération. Ainsi, à l'abri de toutes variations de l'état de l'air, au fond de leur carton de 2006 à 2021, elles sont intactes, aucun relâchement constaté au niveau des cônes et membranes des Haut-parleurs. Donc, je puis affirmer que même si le temps s'est écoulé, elles sont restées neuves n'ayant subi ni air libre / ni déposition de poussière / ni lumière. D'ailleurs, après les photos et les tests audio, elles sont immédiatement retournées dans leur carton... N'hésitez pas à zoomer sur les photos pour les observer de près. A noter que toute la visserie nécessaire à la fixation murale est fournie pour chaque enceinte. De même pour les 2 câbles de liaison en provenance d'un amplificateur vers les enceintes. Quoted from Trashblitz website; Grundig GDM-121 Behold one of the foundational pillars of: The Grundig GDM-121, 1950s German vintage gold deluxe, and in all its glory quite probably responsible for this website. It is to this day the only gold coloured microphone we own, and it has such a cute little metal table stand with the Grundig four-leaf clover on it! And, more importantly, it was one of the first “vintage” microphones we acquired that did not simply sound old, funny or broken, and it piqued our interest in a very special way: It sounded fantastic, but there was buzz and hum and all sorts of unpleasant background noises mixed into the signal – and here my quest to began. I found out that the GDM-121 is a high-impedance version of the Sennheiser MD21, a dynamic omnidirectional reporter microphone which is still being manufactured with only minor design updates, more than 60 years after its release in 1953. In terms of usefulness, this means that it is 100% functionally equal to the MD21, which was used as a reporter mic and in broadcasting. It has many advantages for these purposes – almost no handling noise, no proximity effect, incredibly sturdy (there was supposedly a show on the Sennheiser stage on some fair in the 1950s where an MD21 was dragged up and down a flight of stairs for hours, and it was still operational after this treatment). Since it was developed for vocal applications mainly, it has a presence boost above 3kHz and can withstand really high SPL. Much like with its cardioid sibling, the MD421, it’s virtually impossible to get a distorted signal out of this mic. In the studio, it can be used as a soft, jazzy kick drum mic, on guitar cabinets and on many instruments where you want to capture a mellow and natural ambient sound without very detailed transients or highs. This is because it is a large-diaphraghm dynamic omni, and as such probably unique in its properties even in most serious studio microphone collections.
